My mouse double clicks frequently when I single click it

I have a Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse. Originally when I installed Vista,
it was an upgrade of Windows XP. I noticed this activity when play a game
(Tiger Woods 2006). It didn't do it all the time, but was annoying and also
happened in other applications though not as noticible. I recently did a
clean install of Vista and did not install Tiger Woods or any other games.
I'm still getting the double click on the left mosue button. I've checked
the setup and it is set up as single click only. I also even took the
cordless mouse off the system and started using a USB Logitech Wheel Mouse
with the same results. I also have a friend with a newer model cordless
mouse and same result.
I emailed Logitech's support and got an email saying they would respond in
48 hours. That was 4 days ago. Has anyone had this happen or have a
solution?

Thanks,
Mike

mcrunner1,

Issues like you have are likely caused by some driver incompatibility.
Check whether Logitech has updated Vista mouse drivers available for
downloading and installing. If not, try a different mouse, such as a
Microsoft mouse, or a mouse that is identified as a Microsoft mouse. I'm
using an Inland brand mouse, but Device Manager identifies it as a Microsoft
mouse. I'm having no issues.

RE: My mouse double clicks frequently when I single click it

I think you are right. I tried an old HP USB mouse and so far no problems at
all. I did some checking on logitech.com looking for updated driver. I had
not used any software from logitech after the Vista install because
everything worked without it. According to the site, I should use the native
Windows drivers, so no driver help. Guess I'll just abandon the Logitech
mouse and get a MS (or compatible). Thanks Freddy!

Re: My mouse double clicks frequently when I single click it

I have replaced three Logitech MX 1000 mice in 1 1/2 years because of the
same physical defect.
