| | keyboard problem: text goes everywhere I have a HP notebook. The keyboard worked just fine under Windows XP but after having installed Vista, I cannot type text properly anymore. Without any obvious reason, the text cursor jumps halfway a line to another part of the page and when I don't pay attention, my text resembles a spam letter when I (think I) have finished. |

| | RE: keyboard problem: text goes everywhere AndrewV, Check at the HP website for your particular laptop to see whether there are keyboard Vista drivers available for download. If you can't find those drivers, contact HP support for information on this problem. -- freddy "AndrewV" wrote: > I have a HP notebook. Probably this isn't the answer since you had no problems with the same computer running XP, but I can think of two situations that can cause this. 1) You use a tablet and have inadvertently left something laying on it. 2) You have your touchpad on and hand movement close to it is picked up. |

| | Re: keyboard problem: text goes everywhere Does it have a Touchpad? If so disable the Tapping = Enter. I've seen many cases, my own included when using a laptop with a touchpad, where one inadvertently brushes or taps on the touchpad while typing. There may also be a sensitivity setting you could play with. |

| | RE: keyboard problem: text goes everywhere There's surely something going on here. I've just got a new Fujitsu Amilo laptop, with Vista, that behaves in just the same way; hard to believe at first, but is certainly the case. I'm scanning for viruses but am not hopeful. Are Microsoft taking an interest? "freddy" wrote: > AndrewV, > > Check at the HP website for your particular laptop to see whether there are > keyboard Vista drivers available for download.
