First off, thank you Freddy for attempting to help me with this. Now for
the solution. I uninstalled the 7.7 CAT drivers and then installed the 7.2
CAT drivers for Vista. The problem is gone.

Thanks again,
Wayne

Re: Display driver stopped responding

Hi Wayne,

The problem I am experiencing is a blank display after standby or
hibernation and the display does not respond to a mouse-move or keypress.

Most of the time, the workaround described in KB917332
(<url>http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917332</url>), i.e., close the lid,
wait, and then reopen the lid, does not work. However, the times that it has
worked, I see the message that the display driver stopped and has recovered.

KB 923232 (<url>http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923232</url>) has a fix for
it, i.e., an updated videoprt.sys driver. Both KBs indicate the problem
occurs on XP (they don't say anything about Vista). Because of this, I don't
want to install the updated videoprt.sys on my computer. I posted a comment
requesting more info to Microsoft, so we'll see what they say about it.

Can you tell me what the CAT drivers are and how to get them? Maybe I can
try that.

Thanks!
Denny

Re: Display driver stopped responding

For all those who may be experiencing the same trouble:

I used Windows Update to get today's latest. There was an optional 'Intel
Corporation driver update for Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family'
update I selected, and I think that did the trick! This was NOT part of the
express updates -- I selected it as an optional update.

I have only tried it a few times so far, but my tablet PC's screen now seems
to be working correctly! It now responds after standby and hibernation.
