| | Reclaim Hard Drive OS: Vista Home Premiium Currently dual boot to Linux on an external HD, which is fully formatted in Linux, Windows does not recognize that the drive exist (understand) Everything is working just fine. If in the future I wish to reclaim the Ext. HD to windows format, how do I go about? Would a 3rd party partitioning program enable me to see the HD, and reformat to windows format? Which partitioning program may be best suited to the purpose? -- Regards Bob J If advise given from anyone, solves problem or not, or if solved from another source, post back & let us know. Then we all benefit. |

I've found Disk Director 10 to be well worth the price. |

Yea, just get Gparted (free Linux partioning tool) and have it destroy the partitons on the external HDD. Don't use Gparted to format the HDD though. Just do that in Vista instead. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php You can also get Gparted and many more useful tools on the Ultimate Boot CD. http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ http://www.ubcd4win.com/ |
