DVD Burner Stopped Fully Working after Anytime Upgrade

Hi, resident genii:

I just recently upgraded my computer from Windows Vista Business to Windows
Vista Ultimate. The only problem I've had with it (since installation, that
is) is that my DVD burner will no longer burn DVD-Rs. I can read DVDs, and I
can read and burn CD-Rs, but I can't seem to burn DVD-Rs for some reason. I
haven't tried a DVD+R or DVD-RW because I don't have any, but regardless, I
should be able to burn DVD-Rs because I used to be able to before the
upgrade. I can no longer burn from DeepBurner, Windows Explorer, Windows
Media Centre, or Windows DVD Maker, so it's not program-specific.

My drive is an AOpen DUW1616L-31 (!! NOT !! the Pro). I've checked AOpen's
website thoroughly, and they don't seem to have a specific driver for it
because apparently Windows should recognize it and be able to use it
automatically. I also can't seem to find a third-party driver on the Web, or,
for that matter, anything other than the generic driver Device Manager says I
have installed. I've tried uninstalling the driver, rebooting, and letting
Windows install the driver, but to no avail.

Can anyone help me out? I've got about 30 DVD-Rs that are useless without a
burner, and I've got more data to burn than I can fit on CDs.
