Hibernating

Hi, Asus P5V800-MX, 1GB ram, nVidia FX5900 XT, Pentium D 3.0
when hibernating computer does not switch off but re-starts instandly,
can manually switch off before re-booting starts,
any pointers to get Vista Premium to switch off when hibernating?
TIA, Herman

Try disabling all bios power options, to not wake the computer (mouse,
keyboard, on-board NIC, whatever) save and reboot and try sleep again.

If that fails, go back and enable the stuff you want to wake it (I use keyb
and mouse), disable the onboard NIC, and install a supported PCI NIC.
Reboot, get the NIC's driver installed, and try sleep again.

That's a start and worked for me on a stubborn 965P board.
