RAM associated blue-screen on boot.

Hello all.

Having a little trouble that I hope you can help with. The problem is that
Vista bluescreens with an "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" Stop error code 0x0000000A.

The problem is definitely something to do with the RAM, though it is not a
faulty board. The system boots successfully with three out of the four 1GB
RAM boards installed, though inserting any fourth RAM board causes the above
problem.

My system setup is as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ running at 3.0 GHz
4GB of PC4200 RAM across four DDR2 modules
ASUS M2NPV-VM motherboard with BIOS updated to the latest non-beta release
nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS

Two 500GB SATA drives in a RAID 1 configuration using the motherboard's
onboard RAID controller
Two SATA DVD RW drives.

Running Vista Ultimate x64 Version

Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Re: RAM associated blue-screen on boot.

Hi,

I've found on some Asus boards that manually setting the memory timings is
necessary with 4GB or better of memory installed.

RE: RAM associated blue-screen on boot.

That fixed it. Installing the proper nForce drivers for my motherboard seems
to have helped as well - a bit of a schoolboy error for me there, but I
suppose we all have our off days.

Thank you very much for your help.
