Sound problem after install of device on windows update

After i install this update Realtek Semiconductor Corp. driver update for
Realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA (R) Audio Controller, when i enter the dound
properties is shows that there is a problem with yourt sound drive and says
do you want to disable the enchanced sound interface plus when i close the
sound properties of the sound device it says rundll3232 stopped working.when
i install the driver from realtek, it allows the enchancements to work but
does the same rundll32 error box and quits. I am wondering if your drivers
update is broken on this update.

srry for not writing it good and making it not much understanding if possible.

motherboard: pm8m-v

Re: Sound problem after install of device on windows update

Are you sure you need the AC'97 drivers and not the HD Audio drivers?

Did you uninstall the older drivers and reboot before installing the new
drivers?

Re: Sound problem after install of device on windows update

Download the latest AC'97 driver from here:

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

Right click the file and press the Unblock button, Apply and OK. Unzip the
file.

Then uninstall the AC'97 device in Control Panel (Classic view) > Device Manager
> expand Sound, video and game controllers (be sure to check the box to delete

driver files).

Then uninstall anything related to the Realtek AC'97 driver in Control Panel
(Classic view) > Programs and Features.

REBOOT

Install the new downloaded driver from the unzipped folder.

REBOOT
