No Audio Output Device Installed "Please Help!!!"

i recently updated windows to find that i get this error msg about me not
having an audio output device, i thought if i did i system restore that i
might have been able to resolve the problem, but that was a no go. I checked
the device manager if it was my sound card, but it tells me that the card is
working properly. Now I'm at a dead end and have absolutely no idea why it is
like this. I'd like to note that i am using a Gateway MT3422 Notebook with on
board speakers and a SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, which i tried
updating but had no luck with. Any help at all would be extremely
appreciated, thank you.

Hi Harouna,

Sometimes Audio drivers need to be installed twice. Once to remove the old driver, and twice to install the new one. Other times, a simple restart is required to finish the installation.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
