Vista - Dynamic Hard Drive Offline.

I connected 2 hard drives before installing windows vista. One For vista and
one with a bunch of my old files on it. However when vista starts up the hard
drive cannot be found in explorer. In disk management it appears as "offline"
and any attempt to online it with diskpart results in the error "DiskPart
encountered an error while onlining the objects in the pack associated with
the selected disk" So what is the problem? My files sit unaccessable in a
120GB paperweight?

I found the answer. You can use diskprope a microsoft tool to manually
convert the disk to basic. Than it is perfectly readable.
