Onboard Analog Video Port not available

I have an HP m7760n Media Center PC. It comes with front ports for Composite
and S-Video, and stereo input jacks.

NONE OF THE SOFTWARE CAN SEE THESE INPUTS!!!!

I've spent time online with two HP tech support agents, and they have no
options except to complain to Microsoft since it is now considered a Vista
    issue!

What software can activate the input? I want to be able to capture some home
video to the various tools already installed, and possible use a local camera
with video chat (Netmeeting, Messenger, etc).

    Hi Al,

It's HP's problem, or it's yours. If this (Vista) was the originally
installed OS, then it is HP's responsibility to ensure that the hardware
functions under it. If it came with MCE and you upgraded it to Vista without
ensuring that this would all work, then your options are pretty limited. If
the hardware doesn't function and HP doesn't support it, then you will need
to revert to what they do support.

    HP: "It's Microsoft's problem"
    MS: "It's HP's Problem"

this is what is wrong with most 'service' sectors in the industry... it's
always great to offer new ideas, products and upgrades, but when something is
left undone, they all point at someone else.
