Vista System Restore Syntax error 0x800700B

I bought a new PC with Windows Vista as its Operating application.
Shortly there afterwards I attempted to create a system restore point,
however, every time I try I receive a syntax error of 0x800700B.

My steps to open system restore are as follows; Start, programs, System
tools, System Restore, click "continue"- then the syntax error pops up
and that's as far I get in the process.

Can you please provide me with some assistance to correct this?

    Thank you,
    L.

    Hi,

Click start/all programs/accessories and you should see 'command prompt' in
the list. Right click this and use 'run as administrator'.

Okay, did the whole Admin, and even ensured my admin access was activate
using the cmd so I'm logged on as the Admin account and then I try the
cmd as administrator, type the command it says it was successful after
the enter, and then I do the restart through Start. very quickly an
error message comes up saying something did not execute correctly then
it restarts. When I see if the restore is working again i get the
    syntax error of 0x800700B again.

    man this is frustrating..
    Thanks again for your help
