Vista - Can't open any directx software/games

hi.

i'm running vista home premium 32bit on p4 3.06 ghz, 2 gb ram and msi
rx2400pro 256mb which i just bought recently. whenever i want to run games,
my monitor flicks and a ballon tips appears. it says "display driver atikmdag
stopped responding and has successfully recovered". and after 3-4 times
flickering, the whole system go hang, and i have to restart.

i also can't run windows experience index (it stucks on running the direct3d
texture load assesment). is there any solution for this?

Shazril:
ATI released yesterday a new set of display drivers, version 7.10 for your
card.
Uninstall your current driver, reboot and install v7.10
That should do it.

thanks Carlos but it doesn't fix the error. according to ATI, there's no fix
for the error yet. no i'm using my old windows xp till ATI fix this issue.
