    Back up

    Hi,
I am running Vista Home Premium. I recently had a few problems and had
to reinstall it. I made a back up disk previous to this (in microsoft it says
you can chose to back up the whole computer) i never had this option, anyway
i backed up all files, folders documents etc and reinstalled vista. When i
tried to restore everything it seemed to be going o.k and everything showed
up on my computer but every item i clicked to open says this folder is empty.
    What have i done wrong.
    Regards Mark.

Mark - Premium version does not include the "Complete PC Backup" feature -
    only file backup.

The file backups are zip files and can be "unzipped" by any utilitie such
as Winzip. Check your backup disk to verify the zip files are there.

How did you attempt to restore the files? Via the backup and restore center?
It is possible the files were not "unzipped" when "restored".

    Re: Back up

    Hi AJR,
Thank-you for your reply. I just found out Premium doesn't
have complete back up. I did use the back up and restore centre and i'm
gradually finding certain things all over the place. I just assumed it would
all go back where it was previously.
    Regards Mark
