What are Serviceable Components?

I am trying to do an unattended install of Vista, with user profiles on drive
D:
As detailed here...
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window....mspx?mfr=true

"Use this setting to move the user profile folder (typically
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Users) to another location during Setup or Sysprep. The target
path can be on a volume other than the system drive, as long as it meets the
following requirements:
It must be on an NTFS volume.
It must not be the path of another operating system user profile folder.
It must not contain any SERVICEABLE COMPONENTS."

What are serviceable components in this context?

RE: What are Serviceable Components?

Hello,
Do not use that setting. It will break future servicing.
So updates from Windows updates or stand-alone updates, including security
updates, or like the service pack may fail to install.
Thanks,

RE: What are Serviceable Components?

Thanks for the heads up Darrell, don't think I want to risk using Windows
once its gone stale :P
Seriously though, if thats the consequence then it's a setting that I'll skip.
I still have a gap in my knowledge.. just what are "Serviceable Components"?

Thanks

RE: What are Serviceable Components?

Hello,
The entire OS consists of components.
They all should be serviceable.
That usage of serviceable components in the document is confusing to me.
Thanks,
