Getting 1600 × 1200

Hi.
I currently own a 19" LCD monitor.
I have set my computer up to my 30" LCD TV, so that acts as my monitor, for
watching films and so on...

I was wondering is it possible to get 1600 × 1200 as on my controll panel
the resolution is limited to 1280 x 1024

RE: Getting 1600 × 1200

Hi Alex,

I assume that your 30" LCD TV has a PC interface. Firstly, what is the
resolution of this TV? You cannot hope to display anything of a higher
resolution than the TV is physically capable of. Secondly, you will get the
best result if you use the native resolution. What you need to do is to check
your graphics card capabilities. Some cannot cope with high resolutions
without compromising in other areas such as colour depth and screen refresh
rate. If you are using 32-bit colour, try reducing that to 16-bit colour and
see if you can then select the higher resolution. If you can, then the only
solution if you want 32-bit colour at this resolution is to obtain a graphics
card than can provide this.
