Vista x64 Business Install woes...

Hi all

I'm having some issues installing Vista x64 Business on a new PC which I've got built...

AMD X64 X2 4000
2Gb Corsair RAM
Abit AN52 Motherboard
GeForce 8600GS
250Gb SATA HDD (Western Digi)

Now I've got Ubuntu Gutsy installed fine on this setup (amd64), no problems with it, but with the course I'm on at Uni, I'm being 'forced' to use Vista, and so have MSDNAA copy of Vista Business 64bit DVD. This will be the Only Windows-based PC I have now since I switched from XP to Gentoo (laptop) and recently Ubuntu on the new Desktop.

Upon booting from the DVD, it comes up with Windows is loading files... Then changes to the (c) Microsoft Corp loader (green dots scrolling) then without warn or anything, it just reboots :|

I've gone completely through all the BIOS settings, ran Memtest86+ (boot option from ubu kernel), aswell as the Gentoo memtest from the install cd for that. Everything is checking out fine, its just windows is completely refusing to boot at all.

I've now burnt about 7 DVD's from the MSDNAA ISO Image, and still nothing...

And yes they ARE legit copies, as I'm registered WITH the MSDNAA via Uni.

Cheers

Re: Vista x64 Business Install woes...

Sorted

Was purely down to having USB Mouse Support set to BIOS level instead of letting it be handled by the OS...

Really racks my mind how bloody anal Windows really is...
