| | Applications will not start, even though the process does. After having some problems with the installation/update of Adobe reader 8 in Vista Home Premium, I have not been able to run any application, whether from the desktop or from the start meny. Windows base applications will still start and work normally, but when I try to start IE, Mail or any other application, it acts as if it starts, but nothing will show up as a running app. and when I look in the processes, I see it there. |

That would be your temporary fix to get out of it. |
