| Guest | Downgrading to XP Does anyone know how I might get my computer to "downgrade" to XP? Windows Vista gives me the Blue Screen around three times a day on average (!), whereas my old PC running on XP would crash only once a week. |

| Newbie | Re: Downgrading to XP Sorry to hear about your issues with Vista perhaps the SP1 release will compel you to give it another shot. As far as your downgrade: Just insert an XP install disc, turn on computer, and boot from CD by pressing any key when it asks you.... Also, if you have SATA drives, you may need to use F6 method to load drivers(just search the forums).... |

| Guest | Re: Downgrading to XP Hi, If the blue screens are being caused by a hardware issue, then downgrading will not help. As to downgrade rights, you'd need to check with the system manufacturer to see if they provide for this. If the system is under warranty, then get it fixed as no system should blue screen, not three times per day nor once per week. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH" <BLUESCREENOFDEATH@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ECB0C823-08F7-430D-A185-83CE2988F7F8@xxxxxx Quote: > Does anyone know how I might get my computer to "downgrade" to XP? > Windows Vista gives me the Blue Screen around three times a day on average > (!), whereas my old PC running on XP would crash only once a week. |

Run a RAM test and also run the mfg's HD diagnosis first. Even one crash / week on XP is not at all normal |

I guess that makes a blue screen about once every year and a half, and a crash every other year. I sense that someone is lacking in computer saavy... other than their ability to recognize that VISTA is still a pile of bovine feces. |
