| | Help Please!!!!!! I have lost my start menu and all my desktop icons. Every time i restart my computer everything starts fine till it gets to the desktop and then it opens my documents and i cant do anything unless i go through my files and open everything from the hard drive by going through the folders. I have tried everything i can think of, but i cant do a restore because my genious mother gave me this laptop less than 3 days ago, and there are no restore points. I need any help i can get. I will try anything at this point. I would reinstall but i dont have a disk to recover from and no install information. I tried to go to microsoft help but they want 60 bucks because my activation code is "invald" but is just fine for updates and windows genuine products. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! |

Go to this site and click on "lnk" in the box to download the "lnkfix_vista.zip" file. Just follow the rest of the usage instructions at the site. It will reset shortcuts (lnk) back to their default association and should fix your problem. File association fixes for Windows Vista Shawn |
