| | Vista Ultimate will not activate............... I have finally been able to update my Vista Home Edition that came with my new HP to Vista Ultimate. Following instructions from this forum, I intentionally elected NOT TO UPDATE my new version during the installation. This morning, upon restarting my computer, I got a pop up baloon alerting me to activate my new software. Upon entering my product ID, I got a pop up indicating that this ID this ID had been used and was given the option to purchase another! A little histyory. I purchased the Ultimate upgrade several months back from OfficeMax and attempted to load onto my old Gateway. During this first attempt to install, the software indicated that hardware was inadequate to accept the Vista Ultimate upgrade, so I 'shelved' the software until recently when I purchased a new HP. To date, this current installation is the one and only copy I have used successfully. I don't remember whether my first attempt somehow 'registered' before I was 'kicked out'. Nonetheless, how do I register my Vista Ultimate without having to pay for it again? I would apprteciate a phone # to Microsoft if I have to call! Thank you! ReBell |
