Can't change Color of pages using color/appearance

hey everyone.

I have had my pages set up with the top colors of them being the charcoal
color. but today all of a sudden their blue?? i have gone to
personalize-->Windows color and Appearance but when i do this it does not
pull up the page to change colors it pulls up a page that looks like the one
on XP and it won't let me change the color without going to the windows
classic look. i believe the problem might lie somewhere between my PC and
monitor i had previously been using an old CRT and today just got a new
Hanns-G 19" LCD widescreen and i read it might have to do with the resolution
so iv e changed the resolution and still no help. my current resolution is
set to 1280x1024.

If anyone can help me it would be extremely appreciated. Thanks everyone
and Happy Holidays!

Hi Nate,

It sounds like you have the "Windows Vista Basic" color scheme selected instead of the "Windows Aero" color scheme. This tutorial will show you how to change the color scheme back to "Windows Aero", and what to do if it is not listed anymore.
