| Guest | Outlook folders lost after Easy Transfer I have just done an Easy Transfer (by cable) from my old XP PC to my new Vista PC. Both had MS Outlook loaded as email. After the transfer the emails previously in the folders of my New PC had vanished and been replaced by those imported from the old PC. Needless to say I had neglected to make back-ups or use Auto Archive!! Does anyone know how I can retrieve the lost email folders or where they may have been moved to? I have tried a System Restore, but this has not changed Outlook back to the earlier position. Help! -- Allan S |

| Guest | RE: Outlook folders lost after Easy Transfer Hello Allan, Windows Easy Transfer would not have overwritten the file on your new PC. In Outlook on your new PC, you can add the new one back by clicking on File, Open, Outlook Data file and look or the location where there are files with the "pst"extension. Then in Outlook on the left side where the folders are shown at the very bottom you should see a new node called 'Archived Folder". Expand the node and you should see your email. Hope this works for you. Cheers! -Vik The file (somefilename "Allan S" wrote: Quote: > I have just done an Easy Transfer (by cable) from my old XP PC to my new > Vista PC.
