All that is there is a blank blue screen, i right clicked on the mouse and nothing happens, i can press Crtl, Alt and delete, which opens up the log on screen which displays Task Manager. I can then request the control screen, but when i try and double click the Start Menu and Taskbar logo on the control screen nothing happens, yet if I try and open up another logo on the control screen it will open. I spent over 90 mins on the phone to microsoft but alas problem not solved which makes me think the disk is faulty. |

| | Re: No Start button or Taskbar I hope you backed up XP BEFORE you started the upgrade as always advised. Many upgrades fail. Your best bet is to use the transfer program and do a clean install. Do you still have the roll-back option available? You could use that to get back to XP.
