| | Vista Install Error: Exception Unknown Software Exception After putting together a brand new Phenom-based system, I went to install Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Just after typing in the product key, I get an error that says "Exception Unknown Software Exception (0x40000015) at location 0x776a1261" and it brings me back to the install screen. After several attempts, I was able to get the install program to run, but upon trying to boot in to Vista, it says the install failed and it could not boot, so I tried to reinstall, and I never got the past the same error above. Hardware: Phenom 9600 DFI 790FX motherboard 4 gigs Corsair 2x2 DDR2 ram 500GB seagate 7200.11 hard drive HIS Radeon x1900 XT Creative Labs sound blaster Live! 24-bit |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Vista Install Error: Exception Unknown Software Exception I had the same issue and worked around it by putting a 2x cpu chip into the system, installing, doing the patchs, then putting the phenom in and doing the patched from amd. Took a bit longer but it worked. Almost sorry I didnt go IBM quadcore, they have no such issues. |
