| | Vista upgrade problems - clean install I bought a Dell laptop 1501 computer late 2006 that came with XP media center and a upgrade to Vista Home Premium. I finally decided to install the upgrade from Dell and now my computer has many problems. I have upgraded the drivers and installed updates and still problems exist, so I would like to do a clean install, but I have read that it's not allowed to do a clean install from my upgrade CD. I did't list the problems because there are to many and I have fixed a few, but I feel a clean install is the best way to go. What is the best way to proceed? -- Thanks, Mark |

| | RE: Vista upgrade problems - clean install Hi Mark, If you follow the instructions in my post 'Clean Install Windows Vista Using Upgrade Media', also in this newsgroup (dated 9/21/2007), you should be able to solve your problem. Before you do this, however, visit Dell's website and download the appropriate software and drivers onto a memory stick. You can then access the drivers during the setup of Vista. I enclose links below both to my post and to Dell's download page for your machine. Please note that this page only lists the 32-bit version of Vista.
