Vista - Key does no match disk?!?

My motherboard fried, so I got a new one. I was prompted to reactivate, but
I (being an idiot) had misplaced my stuff while moving. So I got a new
version of vista from newegg (it is an OEM copy since I built the machine
myself), but when I tried to reinstall it says that the product key, which
came on a little sticker outside the Vista CD dose not match the CD. What
now?

contact newegg and the microsoft activation support line in your local country for assistance.

Hi Xanadu,

Does it state on the sticker OEM? If not, then that is your problem. Product
keys are tied to the specific type of media that they are intended for and
will not work for other types. In other words, an OEM product key will not
work on retail versions and a retail product key will not work on an OEM
version.
