Setup Can't See SATA Hard Drive

I have just built a new PC and am trying to install Vista Home Premium. All
goes well with the set up until I click "Install now" and then I get a
message saying "No drives were found"

I have checked and double checked the hard drive is connected properly,¡. Am
I missing something or is the drive DOA?

In the BIOS the drive simply shows as "Hard Drive"

It should be a Hitachi 160GB SATAII

Re: Setup Can't See SATA Hard Drive

You might have to have the driver CD for your motherboard for the SATA
drivers. It should ask or prompt to press a key to load SATA or SCSI drivers
when installing.

Re: Setup Can't See SATA Hard Drive

Hi and thanks for the reply.

Couldnt get it to work no matter what I tried. Went and bought another HDD
and guess what? It worked fine!

The drive was DOA.

Thanks again.
