| | Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 I recently encountered some problems with my .Net Framework and took it upon myself to completely remove the .net framework. I uninstalled 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 (I need 3.5 for use with Visual Studio 2008). I used the complete .NET Framework cleanup tool to remove the files. The problem is, I need to reinstall the 3.0 framework, and THEN the 3.5 framework. I go to the control panel and select "Turn on or off windows features" and select the .Net Framework 3.0. After waiting for around 5 minutes, I get a cute little error message saying that some components could not be configured. Thinking things are okay anyway, I proceed to install 3.5 Framework. I get a failed install with "[01/10/08,21:39:06] Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 'package': [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 'package'. MSI returned error code 1603 [01/10/08,21:39:21] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 'package' is not installed." I NEED the framework to be installed, and I've tried the 3.0 uninstall tool. I can not and WILL NOT ACCEPT A "REFORMAT" reply, it is not possible for me to do. System restore was disabled for reasons unknown. Please, help me, I'm tearing my hair out trying to fix this. To prevent time-wasting generic questions : I am the administrator with administrator rights. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic 32-Bit I have tried completely uninstalling the framework via regular uninstall and the cleanup tools. I am using Bitdefender Internet Security 2008 I am using a genuine version of windows. Thanks! |
