| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Vista boot error 0x0000007E Hello new member here. Building a new system using Home Premium 64 bit. Using Asus M2N-E motherboard with 4G of G-Skill RAM (2 pair of 1G sticks). Installed Vista with no problems but am getting above error on boot most of time with all 4G. I haven't received any problems yet if I remove one pair and just use 2G. I read a review on newegg about Vista that a user had same problem and he removed 2G, reloaded Vista and then put the other 2G back in. Anyone hear of problems with 4G and resolution? Thanks Chas |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Vista boot error 0x0000007E Thanks Jeff. I forget to add in my original post that I had tried 929777 and received a msg that it didn't apply to my PC and didn't install. But you are right about the 929777 I just used the wrong one. Later I received a error 0x0000000a and that pointed me to a Microsoft fix for RAM over 3G. It listed two KB929777 downloads. One for 32 bit and the other for 64 bit. I downloaded the one for 64 bit and it installed fine and I haven't had a problem since. Chas |
