Word setup

This is a new computer. I am trying to set up Word and it will NOT accept
the product key. Why?

Which product key?

If you have a laptop, you can't use the product key on the sticker found on
the underside because that is the Windows Vista key.

If you have a desktop, you can't use the product key on the sticker found on
the side panel because that is the Windows Vista key.

The MS Word key will be on the MS Word packaging.

In all probability, you have a trial version in which case you will have to
purchase MS Office if you want a key.

Double check that you are accurately typing in the correct letters and/or
numbers. An 8 (number eight) can look a lot like a B (letter B) and a Q
(letter Q) can look a lot like an O (letter O) and so on. It's a common
issue.

And, the product key will be on the packaging (do not throw away the disk
packaging!) that your copy of Word came in.
