help 4 dual install

i have a laptop that has windows vista home premium......
i want to install windows xp and still keep the vista as it is!
its not that i am not happy with vista... my laptop hardly gives backup for
an hour when running on
the battery... moreover i have to run C++ compiler which in windows vista
doesnot provide with fulscreen support..

so please help.... maybe if you can tell me how to work in C++ with
fullscreen mode that will also do my work...

thanks in advance......
