| | RE: Vista Deployment ERROR Hello, I am having the exact same problem (BDD 2007 and now the new MDT). This is very frustrating, as even when following the MDT quick start guide to do a generic deployment, it still fails. I have been working on this for a week and have gotten absolutely nowhere. What is funny is that if I just use imagex from the deployment CD, I can write my custom image just fine. There seems to be no good information on how to troubleshoot issues with the generated ISO for the MDT. It could be that I am missing something, but it appears that the "Solution Accelerator" has decelerated my progress on this project. Here are the steps that I followed: - Installed Vista on reference computer with apps, sysprepped with oob and generalize. - Installed MDT, created distribution share, added OS for generic install and custom image that was captured from reference PC (did copy setup files for the generic install, but not for the custom image, as instructed by MDT). - created two task sequences, one for each OS - Created media ISO for Lite Touch deployment - Burned DVD (had to use a dual layer disc, expensive coaster) - Had two entries when I booted the DVD, as expected Either menu option fails, either with the error message described below or unable to find the install.wim image. Some kind of troubleshooting guide for the MDT is sorely needed. If anything like this exists, I would be very grateful for a link.
