Vista - During install "required CD/DVD drive device driver missing"

I've had similar issues when loading operating systems using nVidia's
chipsets. You could try a) going to nVidia.com and downloading their
latest driver for your chipset OR b) try slipstreaming the SATA/RAID
driver into the installation media and burning a new disk with it
included. nLite is my tool of choice for handling this. You need to
download and install nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) on a working
computer with a CD/DVD burner. Then, gather your original installation
media, the SATA/RAID driver for your particular system, and a blank
CD/DVD. Step thru the wizard in nLite and when finished, you should
have a fresh installation media WITH your SATA/RAID driver already
installed. Just fire up the installation and Windows will do the rest.

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1545 and i downloaded windows 7 MSDN
Academic Alliance, and when i clicked install windows, i got the same
error message. I read at some forums that changing sata cable, and thing
like this, but on a laptop its hard to change any cable ). can anyone
help me ?

Hi,

Have you checked with Dell regarding suitability of this model and Win7?
Frequently, that error is due to a requirement for a specialized driver
proprietary to that system. This can only be supplied by the manufacturer.
