How do you install new drivers (eg video card / Motherboard) prior

....installing Vista. I think I need the 64bit drivers for my video card
and/or my motherboard. Can I do that from the command prompt?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot. You need to start Windows then apply the drivers.

When you initially install Vista you are asked if there are additional
drivers you need to install.
At that point you put in the CD that came with your motherboard and contain
the chipset drivers etc.
Once that is done, you can proceed with your installation.

The motherboard chipset drivers are typically necessary for your
installation
but the video drivers can usually be installed after Vista is up and
running...

But, you may want to create your own drivers cd first

Make sure your BIOS is up to date also.

Maybe because there are no vista compatible drivers for your HW?
