    help w/personalization

I was trying to change the appearance (using Vista Basic), have not idea what
I did, but now all my text windows are light gray, the text is somewhat
blurry and has a gray show tail after everything making very hard to read on
my homepage and in Microsoft Mail. Can someone please tell me how to go back,
I promise not to touch it again.

    Hi David,

You may be able to reset the appearance settings, depending on which ones you changed, by changing to another color scheme. After that, you can change back to the one you had before. This will show you how if needed.

    Brink,
Thanks for your prompt response. I tried your suggestion, but it did not fix
the problem. I am beginning to wonder if it is something else. My drivers for
video card & monitor are up to date. Every window I open the background is
light gray, making the text not sharp. Every website looks foggy! Some
examples I went to BMW to look at cars, I picked a color that I know is navy,
but it looks a faded blue on my monitor, playing microsoft solitare the
backgrounds of the cards are light gray, very strange. I wish I could send you
a screen shot so you could see , it's hard to explain.
    Thanks,
    David

    David,

Check to see if by chance if the Color Depth is not set to 32 bit like it should be. You can see how to change it here.

    Brink,
First of all thanks so much for all your time, but you are not done HaHa!
computer is set for 32 bit. My computer is set to a default color scheme/
Vista Standard, w/ effects are clear type. If I can just get rid of the grey
background for every website/window I open I think my promblems would be
solved. Why is my taskbar 2 tone, half black and half grey? Can you see the
shadows after every text, I copied part of my Yahoo page ann pasted it
    before this message?

    David,

I did not see any shadows, but did see some coding at the start and end of the sentences though.

I must admit that I'm stumped to what it may be. As a test you might try the free web browser Firefox to see how it looks to you.

LOL David, how funny. Must have been a loose or bad connection. Maybe even something on the connector. I'm glad to hear that you got it resolved. Thank you for the feedback.
