Problem with the installation of Vista x64 Ultimate

During the installation of Vista Ñ…64 Ultimate, after the "Expand of files",
"Install of features" and so on the computer wants to restart. During the
restart the following message appears:

"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the
cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings and click "Next".
3. Click "Repair your computer".
If you do not have this disk, contact your system administrator or computer
manufacturer for assistance.

File: \Windows\system32\drivers\acpi.sys
Status: 0xc0000221
Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or
corrupt."

Then after running the "Startup Repair", the following message appears:

"Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically."

My computer is:
Dell Dimension E521.
AMD 64 x2 5600+ 2.8 GHz
RAM 4GB
Video card: GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB

Apart the video card, I have a Modem card (purchased together with the
computer), Internet card and Card Reader (inserted additionally).

Please help me solve the problem!
Best regards!
V. Zlatanov.

Re: Problem with the installation of Vista x64 Ultimate

There are a number of possibilities. Check the ACPI settings in the BIOS
and update the it if it is more than 2-3 years old.
Some computers will not install Vista with 4 gig ram. Remove 2 gig for the
install. There is a hotfix that then needs to be applied and then you can
install the other 2 gig back.
Install the driver for your video card either at the load drivers or during
the last reboot, using F8
