| | SP1 fails, computer doesn't start I have installed SP1 in the morning. Took a very long time . After installation it gave me trouble with starting up, but managed somehow to get is started at least once. It said I had a problem with my modem driver. I tried to get an updated driver, but windows told me I did have the latest version. Anyway I shut off the machine again but it doesn't want to get started now. First I get a screen with two option: Launch Startup Repair or Start windows normally The first option doesn't work at all. Nothing happens. The second one restarts windows and gets me to a Bluescreen with memory dump The error message is: 0x00000007 (0x000011013,0x00010204,0x833D2938) have no idea what it means Can anyone help ? Lazlo |

Restart computer. Should boot up now. I'm using the Best Data 56FW92 PCI modem. I've tried two different drives so far and have downloaded a third from Conexant but haven't tried it yet. A worse case is that you might have to get a Vista compatible modem. I only used mine for faxes and those are few and far in between since I use email mostly. |

| | Re: SP1 fails, computer doesn't start I have no idea how to start in Safe Mode Doesn't give me that option Nothing happens when I hit F8 However after 10 or so try it started up again and I have uninstalled the modem in Windows. I still do not dare to shut down the machine. Lazlo "Mellowed" <nospam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:9VdEj.3383$bN3.2641@xxxxxx Quote: > Lazlo wrote: Quote: >> I have installed SP1 in the morning.
