| | Vista - USB drives changed to PMD after SP1 install |

| | USB drives changed to PMD after SP1 install I have a successful (?) SP1 installation. Now Vista prompts for a device driver for my SATA DVD drive. I am limited to two USB thumb drives and they are shown as PMD devices in Device Manager. Vista also prompts for device drivers for these PMD USB thumb drives. If I install a third USB drive, the storage management window under System Administration shows the size of the drive, but will not permit assigning a drive letter. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know the default settings for Turn Windows Features On or Off in the Control Panel Programs and Features Window? The MS Support person I have been working with had me turn all of these off as part of an unsuccessful attempt to do an in-place repair using the Vista Home Premium installation DVD. wajh |
