| Vista Ultimate x64 & Business x64 | How much hardware am I allowed to change on a OEM install? Hi! I think I read somewhere that Vista has a "points system" when using an OEM version of their OS. When you've reached enough points Windows will be disabled. Anyone know specifically how this works? Thanks in advance |

| | Re: How much hardware am I allowed to change on a OEM install? You may have to reactivate after a hardware change. However, as long as the motherboard has not changed, you can change as much of the hardware as you like and you just have to reactivate. You do not lose your license. You might have to use the phone method to activate if the Internet method does not work. A motherboard is what defines a new computer and an OEM version would no longer be in agreement with the license if you change the motherboard.
