Word and Outlook 2003 Corrupts Colors in Vista

Installed Office Pro 2003 on a new Vista Home Premium machine. All programs
appear normal except Word and Outlook. Word graphics are black and white
squares(buttons eg.) and minimizing corrupts the Vista desktop background and
buttons. Outlook is worse. No(blacked out) Program Header bar, no
min/max/close buttons, same Vista desktop corruption only it sticks to the
desktop when closing Outlook. Have uninstalled, reinstalled - no difference.
Fooled with graphics card and monitor settings - no difference.
Any ideas?
