Re: Dual booting XP and Vista

I'm sorry to pipe in like this but one of the benefits of being an ADD & Bi-polar human is i get these visceral reactions to posts like this.... OP, just search for the postings on installing Vista from an Upgrade CD (doing a clean install) from the upgrade DVD. Combine it with the dual booting posts. You end up doing the installation (slightly differing the second time) twice. Then you won't burn a copy of XP... I'm sorry but Microsoft has gotten my $$$ time & time again, I'm tired of wasting my $$$ and my time dealing with there issues... I'm spending my free time learning other OS's that are Open source. If Microsoft thinks so little of me and makes things so less than straight forward....then i've had enough & i'm drawing the line this time.

This is so the trend with copy protection in too many types of software these days another example is gaming protection. The same day software is released the copy protection that can run the gamut including making a system unstable is broken so the ONLY people that suffer are the legit users! I'm not a criminal and if that's what people in this thread think from someone who buys the operating system and then attempts to use it the way they want to within reason...one disc one install....well all i can say is LINUX/Ubuntu Beryl here i come.

Good Luck OP hope you learned that you had other options (fellfrosch)! I'm posting this so others can find help.
