You've got the wrong locale selected. Go to Control Panel>Regional and
Language Options and make sure you've selected the correct choice; i.e., if
in the US you want plain United States and not United States International.
I don't know if Works has a separate place where you set your country or
not. Works-related questions should be posted in its newsgroup:

microsoft.public.works.win

You have the keyboard set for Canada French or Canada International..

Go to Regional and Language Options and change it to Canada English..

You aren't supposed to save the settings exactly as I said; you're supposed
to use settings for where you are! If you are in Canada, do as Mike Hal
wrote. You're still not using the correct locale!
