SP1 fails with Failed to find the CixTarget

Trying to upgrade an MSDN provided Vista Ultimate OS to SP1 and get

Support fixed the problem, though it took a couple days online with them.
The fix was to reinstall Vista and do it as "Upgrade" rather than "Clean
Install" so programs don't get wiped out. After that, SP1 installed.

Yeah... been there, tried that. When and IF you can get someone who can
actually speak clear english, and IF they aren't doing 10,000 other things at
the same time, you MIGHT get your issue fixed in, oh, say, a FEW WEEKS...

Might be nice if people posted the fixes here, because the ones on the MS
website do not work. At least not for me and many others. May work for
some...
