| | Installing Vista on a external USB drive Has anybody tried to install Vista on an external USB drive? I recently tried with a recent build and Vista gets the partition set up, and starts copying files, but on the reboot it blue screens as soon as it goes past the main boot screen. Is this even possible? Build is 5361 with a Maxtor OneTouch USB drive +++ Rick --- -- Rick Strahl West Wind Technologies www.west-wind.com www.west-wind.com/weblog |

| | Re: Installing Vista on a external USB drive Hi Rick, MS has stated that installing Vista on an external USB drive is not supported. If you can go to the stage of copying files, that is not by Design. What I suggest is that you send in a bug report with the exact model of USB Drive so they can close this loophole.
