| | Setup fries after loading files If tried to do a clean installation of Windows Vista, downloaded the Image as told in the email. And wrote it onto a DVR-R. After doing this I tried to start the setup for Windows Vista RC1. After the "Windows is loading files" screen, I get the Screen where the Vista logo is supposed to be with the little green progress bar, which fries after flashing up the numlock lamp on my keyboard. Any suggestions ? -- My PC: AMD Athlon 2800+ Asrock K7S8X Rev. 3.0 SIS Chipset 1024 MB DDR333 Geforce 6600GT AGP8x Samsung Spinpoint 160GB IDE Creative Soundblaster Audigy X-Fi Xtreme Music DVD AOPEN DUW1608/ARR |

| | RE: Setup fries after loading files Even after removing my sound card, my second hdd and my 2 additional ram chips and just running on one and vice versa, no effect. Tried to run in safe mode, debugging, etc. still no effect. Even after copying the files from the dvd to the hdd and starting the setup while running xp after restarting the computer it still fries at the progess bar under the non-existent vista logo. Any suggestions, anyone? -- My PC: AMD Athlon 2800+ Asrock K7S8X Rev. 3.0 SIS Chipset 1024 MB DDR333 Geforce 6600GT AGP8x Samsung Spinpoint 160GB IDE Creative Soundblaster Audigy X-Fi Xtreme Music DVD AOPEN DUW1608/ARR "Martin" wrote: > If tried to do a clean installation of Windows Vista, downloaded the Image as > told in the email. | | RE: Setup fries after loading files My Vista setup also stops pre-installation. I get past the point where it says "Windows is loading Files..", then I get the flashy background with a mouse cursor, but after that it just stops. I can move the mouse, but there's nothing to click on. I have an AMD64 2800+ on an Asrock K8S8X with 512 MB, with a 6800LE. Clean installs tried with both 32bits & 64 bits versions, tried different DVD players, different DVDs, different burning programs, tried it with CnQ disabled, tried it with a different GFX, etc... I have no USB devices attached. Sounds like it could be a SiS Chipset incompatibility bug? Microsoft had better fix this, they've been working on it for 5 years and they can't even get it to install! | | RE: Setup fries after loading files Okay I'just figured out the cause for this problem using the T&E method, took 6 fu***** long hours. It's the SIS chipset Vista RC1 has a compatibility issue with! And as you have the same chipset..... Maybe anyone knows a way to fix this? Suggestions anyone? -- My PC: AMD Athlon 2800+ Asrock K7S8X Rev. 3.0 SIS Chipset 1024 MB DDR333 Geforce 6600GT AGP8x Samsung Spinpoint 160GB IDE Creative Soundblaster Audigy X-Fi Xtreme Music DVD AOPEN DUW1608/ARR "Keats" wrote: > My Vista setup also stops pre-installation.
