Mouse/Keyboard Lockup at Start

When installing Vista from as a boot DVD, The keyboard and mouse seem to stop
working after windows loads setup files. Keyboard works during BIOS and the
LOCK key lights work until the end to the "Windows is loading setup files"
screen.

I tryed loading from XP Pro Media Center, and it said that it cannot boot
from the OS.

All specs are compatable. Keyboard is a PS/2 and the mouse is a USB tablet.

Any way to get the mouse or keyboard to work?

Re: Mouse/Keyboard Lockup at Start

I have this very same problem. I have installed vista before but for some technical reason formatted and installed xp pro again. Now I am wanting to go back to vista but at the initial screen my keyboard and mouse (both USB) fail to work, connecting a PS2 keyboard and mouse does not change the situation.

What happened!?
