Insert your Vista DVD in drive (It doesn't matter, you are using x86 or x64 DVD) Boot from the DVD...Choose your Regional Settings and reach at *Setup Screen (Install Now)* Here click on *Repair your Computer* Now it try to detect previous installation and will not find anything...Click Continue to move *Recovery Tool Options* Here click on *Command Prompt* Now follow the guide to create partitions. Type *Diskpart* and press ENTER - It launch DISKPART> Console Execute *List Disk* - to check how much disk (with ID)has been attached to your laptop including your Removable USB HDD and Flash drives too. Lets assume your HDD ID is *0* - It requires to perform all partitioning operations on the specific device. Execute *Clean* - Erase your all previous partitions (GPT as well as MBR based too) Execute *Create partition primary size 153600* - Create your first primary partition with size of 150GB (150x1024 MB) Execute *Create partition extended* - Create extended partition of remaining unallocated space. (Extended partition holds your rest of logical drives) Execute *Create partition logical -size XXXXX-* - specify size if desired, other wise use "Create partition logical" without quote to create logical drive with rest of disk space. Now exit DISKPART console and restart installation. Format the partitions during the installation and perform clean installation of Windows Vista x86 or x64. -- Ramesh Kumar MVP RAMESH KUMAR Microsoft MVP: 'My MVP Profile' (
