trouble reparing vista

Hello.

Last night after i did a reboot of my vista computer it would not start
up anymore saying that /windows/system32/winload.exe was corrupt or
missing. I then located my vista installation CD and went to the repair
options there, but my OS is not showing up in the list of "Operating
systems to repair" and i wonder why? :/ all my HDD's are S-ATA drives
and i have a ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard. what should i do to repair
my vista installation? :/

EDIT: my problem is solved but i still have a sub problem.
after googeling some i found that another person with multiple
hardrives had the same problem as me and had to press F8 during the boot
and choose the HDD he installed vista on. i just did the same and then
vista booted without a problem. now i just have to wonder what has
happend ? becuase if i reboot vista again i get the
/windows/system32/winload.exe was corrupt or missing problem. the HDD is
set as first to be booted in bios but i still have to press F8 and
choose it :/

What could have happend ?

Re: trouble reparing vista

Hi,

Vista likes to place her boot files on the first partition ( this is the system volume ) - irrespective of which partition the Vista o/s is installed on (this is the boot volume).

Take a screenshot of Disk management and post it back.
