how do I downgrading from 64bit to 32bit

I am currently running Windows Vista Premium 64bit

I'm aware that it needs to be a clean install and that I need to have a version of Vista 32bit with a license. All my docs are backed up. The reason I'd like to switch is that a few programs I use often don't support the 64bit version, most importantly Autocad LT2008 and any Palm OS software.

1.Can I download from the microsoft site and transfer the program to a DVD so that I have something to install once the hard drive is reformatted? or can I download it right to a DVD?

2.Can i purchase it like I'm buying an upgrade which would be cheaper then the full version? Or is there a way to get it for free by trading in my 64bit license?

3.Is Home Basic the only versiopn that comes in 32bit?

4.Once I have the 32bit version on DVD, what is the exact procedure for the reformat prior to the clean install?

Thanks for your help,
jon

Re: how do I downgrading from 64bit to 32bit

Depends - if you have a retail product, you can get the 32 bit for a nominal fee from here. (all editions are available in 32bit version) :

ttp://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/1033/ordermedia/default.mspx

Though I think ( with the exception of Utimate ) the retail products only shipped in 32 bit, in which case,

If you have the OEM product , you need a new license for the 32bit.

Here's how it's done :

Clean Install with a Full Version of Vista

Hope this helps
